Liaison

Full, white, satin moon
Hanging high and bright
Owls heard, wings rustle
Presence, out of sight
Heaviness drapes tale
Like a veil that's cut from a black lace night

Oh, his eyes have wandered
Oh, soft lies have pondered
-- a liaison, which would split us apart

And I'll hear it in his voice
And I'll smell it on his flesh
And I'll feel it with his hand
-- pulse and tempo as to thresh

Myrrh and cypress burn
And the room grows dense
Music plays, oppressed
As the mood flows tense
All we seek to do
Cues, not without the coil of consequence

Oh, his lust has taken
Oh, love has forsaken
-- a liaison, which would split us apart

And I'll hear it in his voice
And I'll smell it on his flesh
And I'll feel it with his hand
-- pulse and tempo as to thresh

Oh, time stays unspoken
Oh, gaze not yet broken
But it weighs as it splays
-- a liaison, which will split us apart

The Sun Can Betray

It's a sad, sad story
And it happens every day
That which grace loses glory
And how the sun can betray

People ride promises in like a storm
Wreck havoc and blow out on a breeze
Never knowing, never giving a damn
About all the damage that they leave

They see a calm and want its destruction
They see some struggle and want it worse
Everyone else is pushed to rock bottom
They only worry 'bout being first

It's a sad, sad story
And it happens every day
That which grace loses glory
And how the sun can betray

- Some - gorgeous, drop dead girls, snag a taker
Their guys later complain, there's no care
Femme, bat lash eyes rove out a wandering
Searching out, new lover to ensnare

- Some - bad boys will charm but are unstable
Bad is the word a girl might forget
His hand can turn from tender to heavy
Her wishes trade for bruise and regret

Such bright shining things draw a hopeful heart
Be sure in what it is and what it seems
Love is a fragile gift that when broken
Can be lost and its Soul never redeems

It's a sad, sad story
And it happens every day
That which grace loses glory
And how the sun can betray

Contrary

I swore I would not go back
To what once was
Love lost
Accepting a tepid rose
Only to watch it wither on the vine
There's line
I've drawn for self promises

80 to 10 m.p.h
Oh, think again
Our long conversations have ...
Come to an end
Stamina, you're not engaged
I'm contrary
And you've got nothing but lax to defend

Frustrated by defiance
Met your cool match
Love lost
Your would-be conquer has flaws
That imperfection proves to serve me well
Do tell
Challenge to your idle heart

80 to 10 m.p.h
Oh, think again
Our long conversations have ...
Come to an end
Stamina, you're not engaged
I'm contrary
And you've got nothing but lax to defend

There's settling but I won't tolerate
Boredom and vacancy, where you could try
(Goodbye ... Now, love lost ... Goodbye)

Witchy Night

The wolfhounds pace near the fireside
And to the window's depth, they peer
They're restless as a phantom's bide
And stride the edginess that's here

This heightened feeling, the time comes
Count the lightning to thunder's roar
And crystal bright and pound of drums
Bear round the gable arch with pour

Chime sends a warn throughout the air
But arc bends dark to dark, threefold
The wolfhounds take to guard this lair
I wake the unknown and untold

This heightened feeling, time rages
Count the lightning to thunder's roar
Crystal bright, pound of drum wages
Numb bound this truth I can't ignore

It's time I feel
Do what you will

This long night, this place
Fills and circles a symphony
This space, this coldness
Chills me through with cruel tragedy
How your devilry crept, laughing
I was napping every sign
I feel your honeyed kiss, your touch
Press against flesh that isn't mine
The salt is bitter from my tears
While nectar is sweet on your tongue
I know I'm not the only one
And flows the circle's symphony
I feel your heart depart from me
My love's released from jaded stitch
My soul's seen you, night of the witch

Betray

There's a shifting in the eyes
As they turn and look away
Then ... reveals a shrug of chill
When its sender schemes betray
The worst of love-breaking aim
Stabs with how the once so dear
Bends to cryptic and silence
Spineless posed and insincere
