Damiana

Her kisses taste like cinnamon
Potent as a brew of devil's cherries
Her perfume smells likes dark Magic
But she's a White Witch
Airy, ethereal
She's a thousand sunsets
There's nightshade in her eyes
Fire on her flesh
Spells on her lips
And those candy hot thistles from her tongue
Send érotique surge through your every vein

And you'll never be the same
And you'll never be the same
(unfading love)

Pink mist, black velvet words
- "I've missed you,..
Hold me, don't let go"
Wrap up inside every syllable
She's hypnotic
Lyrical champagne
Her gaze is ... the stars ... and 13 moons
Her fingertips are open roses
Wandering, conjuring
As Amaranth candles burn
That blush smoke etches your name

And you'll never be the same
And you'll never be the same
(unfading love)

Hiraeth

Twin flame, my whole universe
- Very reason to go on
Autumnal frost, time be curse
You sustain me, warm as dawn
Damn the cold, darkness be gone

Light of all fire
Heart of my heart
My love
(Hiraeth)
I am home (immortal home)

Taste hungers, yet touch is known
- Ardently enamoured care
To lose you and be alone ...
Would be more than I could bear
Same soul, windows to my lair
I am home (immortal home)

Other half, such part of me
Always was, always will be

Light of all fire
Heart of my heart
My love
(Hiraeth)
I am home (immortal home)

(c) Kay Irvin

Note:
'Hiraeth' is a Welsh word that has no direct English translation.
(HEER-eyeth)
Some definition (in research) ...
A longing for home or homeland.
Something that is such a part of you ...
That you search for and feel lost (incomplete) without.
I built with that idea ... and the notion of a
'Twin Flame' ... even more a connection
(it has been said/thought) than a 'Soulmate' ...
The 'Twin Flame' being the 'one' ... the other half.
- The ultimate mate/true partner

Drops of Moonlight

Oceans of love
Each time I'm with you
Each time I see you
I wrap 'round your sighs and laughter
As a shell encompasses an oyster
And a treasure within
And another created
And another created
Precious moments, connecting
A string of pearls
As stepping stones to more and more
Drops of moonlight
The ebb of disappointment set adrift
Replaced with elation
Salty spray engulfing me (entirely)
Tides
Pulling me in
Rushing around me
Foam, current, waves of splendor
White sand orbs
Brilliant
Every speck
Every glittering morsel
My opulence
Love, love, love

Redbud Song

Avondale hills, his gentle violin -
Haunts the days, grown heavy and long
And time's temperamental as sloe gin
I hold my love, dear, deep and strong
Blackthorn, bittersweet, sad to part
Take to heart, mine beats to see you
Starling - follow and carry Redbud song
(I hold my love, dear, deep and strong)

Scissortail, gone past the front porch window -
Westward, where the horses stroll white clover
Labor conquers all things but now meadow -
Cradles the wind and toil is over
(He will fill moonlight with music again)

Chain link fences, shabby barns, honey hives
Cool, Summer creek, peaches and cream
Slow rosin - he makes sweetness come alive
Home - bring him to me, liken dream
Country back roads, picturesque gem
Nightwish - songbird sent, wing and crest
Shooting star - don't leave my eyes half agleam
(Home - bring him to me, liken dream)

Parchment Prose

Romantic rose
Antique crackles
Three words
(I - love - you)
The most perfect, most meaningful words ... ever
And I can smell him
Taste him
Feel him

Black ink quill
And I recall how handsome he is
When he's dressed in black
And how attracted I am (to him)
He wears it well

Elegant font, calligraphically grand
And I recall the curve of his sugar-smile
When he can't get enough of me
And I find that irresistible
I can't get enough of him

Breathy lyrics,... rhythmic, soft moans
I can hear him
His voice moves inside me
And I will recite his sentiment with delicacy
(when next, I'm with him)
Pleasurably procrastinating the brush of my lips
To his chest
His neck
His ear
More and again, I will smell him
Taste him
Feel him
What imagery and senses stir
Oh, those three words
Magnificent
Of parchment prose

Darkflower

His vintage beauty in pale, pink stockings
Tosses dulcet laughter, catching his heart
Her smile leads his dizzy thoughts rocking
While night colors love ... like a work of art

Darkflower
- And a pale, pink rose
Stroking 'cross her lips
Dew, petals and hips
Darkflower
Moon dripping with light
Down her body,... back arched, exquisite curve
Silver tongue kisses, tingling every nerve
Juicy confection like Autumn candy
Haunting affection, canvassed for the Spring
Moments such as these ... are the sweetest thing

His muse, and wild hearts can't be broken
Dazzles with fragile, yet an untamed bloom
He can capture what she leaves unspoken
But there's part of her,... no one can consume

Darkflower
- And a pale, pink rose
Stroking 'cross her lips
Dew, petals and hips
Darkflower
Moon dripping with light
Down her body,... back arched, exquisite curve
Silver tongue kisses, tingling every nerve
Juicy confection like Autumn candy
Haunting affection, canvassed for the Spring
Moments such as these ... are the sweetest thing

Watercolors

Watercolors, emotions
Blur and blend through each other
With their, dizzy, tinted thoughts
Chaotic, racing sundries
The woman is strong but longs for protection
Where her guard can come down and she can just be
And misty confusion can be ... washed away

Don't we all get tired, shattered by too much thinking?
Don't we all feel powerless and need time to escape?
Unconditional touch can heal with comforting drape
Those unflinching arms, holding on
'Til the hurt is gone

That Alpha male,... he'll say
I'll be your everything
For you,... anything
Let your tears and world fall ... to my shoulders
I will be the bolder one ... for awhile
Until you can summon a smile ... again
Let me take and love your burdens, unto sleep

Wonderlust

Love, I want to learn every inch of you
I want you to learn every inch of me
Hours and hours deflowers to our open world
Explore, lose boundaries, touch electricity

Nothing forbidden,... bask, taste with innocent lips
Where risque words unveil sugar, like a lover
Again and again, memorizing each other

Lingering, fingering, sketching constellations
Sensitivity can ache, twinge and trust combine
Stargazers let curious waves interpret design

Wonderlust, safe in love
Wonderlust, safe in love
And it's okay,... for us,... to feel everything

Justify Me

There's something about candlelight
Stunning trance, in a woman's eyes
Glimpse to an intimate place and stardust shine
There's something about a good man
Willing to take a real, good while
Strong hands gone tender, up and down her spine

Release the love that's long been sleeping there
Slow-trace her face and body, pull back her hair
With hard kisses, hell-bent to have their way
Heaven-sent, no holding back, intent to stay
Making a memory, the first of many
(tonight,... forever and a day)

(Justify me ... and I will love you, like mad)

There's something about a man's smile
Playful, hinting, begging to seize
He must have her,.. words honey-dripping, "You're mine"
There's something about a woman
Waking that imagination
He knows when dawn comes, it will be divine

Release the love that's long been sleeping there
Soft hands gone strong, taking his shiver with dare
With hard kisses, hell-bent to have their way
Heaven-sent, no holding back, intent to stay
Making a memory, the first of many
(tonight,... forever and a day)

(Justify me ... and I will love you, like mad)

My Gothic Romance

The music is in my head
Notes, alive, somehow survived
And melodies ... all but dead
Your eyes know much is unsaid
... but you love me, nonetheless
With a love, I thought was hopeless ... and wishful thinking

Past statues and blossom vine
Is a black heart's valentine
Past the concrete jungle walls
Past the wooded, wolfen calls
You lift me from the darkness
Into floating, free falling, spinning
But safe,... landing,... held ... within your arms
Our courtyard dance,... My Gothic Romance

In a world so afraid
Just going through the motions
Heavy footsteps, sorrow weighed
Cradlesong and masquerade
... but you love my dreams awake
With a love that takes ... me ... to a castle in the air

Past statues and blossom vine
Is a black heart's valentine
Past the concrete jungle walls
Past the wooded, wolfen calls
You lift me from the darkness
Into floating, free falling, spinning
But safe,... landing,... held ... within your arms
Our courtyard dance,... My Gothic Romance

I have you, you have me
That's all we ever need

Cotton Candy

Blame it on the warm breeze blowin' his hair
The midway booths couldn't keep my interest
Yes, it was just mighty fair

Metallic axles were hummin', grindin'
One last ride on the neon Ferris wheel
Anticipation's climbin'

(I want us to be alone, take me home)

He's a hazel-eyed devil ... still with wings
And when his blue-green changes like mood rings
His halo might be slipping
And he knows that's fine with me
His breath moans for love, calling me ... "darkling"
The death of Summer never tasted so good
Hot sugar, sticky fingers, cotton candy
(Cotton candy)

(He wants us to be alone, take me home)
(lane, porch lamps vine, can't wait to get inside)

Night gardenia, near the door, waves perfume
Blame his eager hands on misty moonlight
It brought his senses abloom

When he gently pins me against the wall
His arms tremble as his body presses
He knows he can have my all
(I know ... I can have his all)

He's a hazel-eyed devil ... still with wings
And when his blue-green changes like mood rings
His halo might be slipping
And he knows that's fine with me
His breath moans for love, calling me ... "darkling"
The death of Summer never tasted so good
Hot sugar, sticky fingers, cotton candy
(Cotton candy)

(our touch, heat-sweetened with each cherry kiss)
(whipped cream like heavenly clouds dissolving)
The death of Summer never tasted so good
Hot sugar, sticky fingers, cotton candy
(Cotton candy)

This was written a little out of my comfort zone.
[that's why I wrote it & deep down, I'm a romantic]
But a single gal, on her birthday, can have a bit of fun.
So, adding this one as a post today.
Besides, that mystery man (with a dark side, just sayin')
Is a nice thought.
There's the Fair/Carnival, end of Summer, flowers & cotton candy
For scenery/season change ...
- The first slight hint & feel of Fall in the air.

Ethereal

E-the-re-al
Falling in love, lifted to flight, finding (Euphoria)
It's all ahead of us

Let's hold this moment as long as we can
We won't be here again

E-the-re-al

Feel the rainy night move through our bodies
The angels are weeping
Their loud wings are restless
Spirited tears of happiness, earthbound

The sleepy candlelight is heavenly
Celestial confetti
Iridescent flame-drops
Imprinting memories' soft afterglow

E-the-re-al

High could die if we don't keep it alive
Remember this bliss, ethereal kiss

E-the-re-al
Falling in love, lifted to flight, finding (Euphoria)
It's all ahead of us

Simplicity

Complications are overrated
I've hated
Every promise made carelessly
Easily
Thrown away
In patronizing, moody mind game
That's a shame

Complications are overrated
I've waited
For magnitude of simplicity
Clarity
Love for love
Condition less, effortless, unfeigned
Souls unchained

We're so into each other
No one else could understand
How real,... safe and sound it feels
With slightest touch of your hand

The walls ... dissolve
The walls ... dissolve

I won't take (my turn) for granted
Hesitating, disenchanted

No one gets me like you do
(and you do)
(you do)
(you do)

Valentine

Ever mine, ever gothic romantic
Graced paper lace and Winter violin
Frosted hearts wake frantic
(I keep you)
When the parlor light is slightest hue
I am elusive touch that sweeps your skin

Desire closed cold as frozen flowers
Ice kissed, wondering if love's saint forgot
Now home unfolds the hours
(I keep you)
When candles spindrift embrace anew
I am lyrical chill ... "forget me not"

Feel me, feel my eyes watching over you
Here and near, darling, ever connected
And you cannot hide, you are affected
I know you know (quivering, shivering)
There's no letting go, there's no letting go
Footsteps lead wait as whisper lifts dreaming
Soul screaming infinite, devoted pine
Ever mine, Eventide, Valentine

You are mine
Ever mine, Eventide, Valentine

Diamond Dust

You're not so far away
That I can't reach and grasp
With invisible hands
I filter through your mind
Lifting, separating
Diamond dust feelings
Spark-soaked
Radiant thoughts
My fingers drenched with light
Consuming my body
With brightness I feel you
Crushed crystalline rapture

Tangled

Love has been suppressed far too long
Enchanted seasons can't be wrong
I could stay tangled by your slight
But Spring blossom scent fills the night

You come and go but never see
Love aspires epiphany
I could stay tangled with regret
But Summer starlight won't forget

Love has built up to overflow
With one, slow embrace it will show
I could stay tangled to the dark
But Autumn leaves release a spark
