Badlands, carved by the wind and age
Wheels hittin' pavement, dead end gauge
Rear view mirror dons talisman
Throttle, hammer down, if you can
Black-eyed, soulless figures
Approaching, knocking,... 'let me in'
Open your door but know for sure
You won't ever be seen again
(don't stop, don't let the engine die)
Ridin' Devil's Highway
Nights, headlights, Hell to pay
Four corners, six-six-six
Twist, turn, curve, swerve, tread huggin' road
Knuckles grippin' tight, heavy load
Miles and miles, point 'a' to 'b'
Dry-slick, dust kickin' up debris
Black-eyed, soulless figures
Approaching, knocking,... 'let me in'
Open your door but know for sure
You won't ever be seen again
(don't stop, don't let the engine die)
Ridin' Devil's Highway
Nights, headlights, Hell to pay
Four corners, six-six-six

1. U.S. Route 491 (US 491) is a north–south U.S. Highway
serving the Four Corners region of the United States.
One of the newest designations in the U.S. Highway System,
created in 2003 as a renumbering of U.S. Route 666 (US 666).
With the 666 designation, this road was nicknamed
... the "Devil's Highway"
2. BEKs (Black-Eyed Kids)... urban legend/myth
Mostly, taking the form of children (or teens).
They always ask to get IN
- into the car, into the house, into wherever you are.
And they are always accompanied by fear,
a fear so strong that witnesses describe it as dread or terror.
