Hiraeth

Twin flame, my whole universe
- Very reason to go on
Autumnal frost, time be curse
You sustain me, warm as dawn
Damn the cold, darkness be gone

Light of all fire
Heart of my heart
My love
(Hiraeth)
I am home (immortal home)

Taste hungers, yet touch is known
- Ardently enamoured care
To lose you and be alone ...
Would be more than I could bear
Same soul, windows to my lair
I am home (immortal home)

Other half, such part of me
Always was, always will be

Light of all fire
Heart of my heart
My love
(Hiraeth)
I am home (immortal home)

(c) Kay Irvin

Note:
'Hiraeth' is a Welsh word that has no direct English translation.
(HEER-eyeth)
Some definition (in research) ...
A longing for home or homeland.
Something that is such a part of you ...
That you search for and feel lost (incomplete) without.
I built with that idea ... and the notion of a
'Twin Flame' ... even more a connection
(it has been said/thought) than a 'Soulmate' ...
The 'Twin Flame' being the 'one' ... the other half.
- The ultimate mate/true partner

Compass

Black cloud towering me
Powdering down, through my bones
What are the knowns ... for those souls
- Discerning glass houses,
Where they cunningly throw stones

Some make their own screwed-up world
Strange gravity held my compass
But I don't want to be a part
(of that existence)
Oh, with my bare hands
- Punch a hole in the atmosphere
Settle the quiet, distant star
See everyone for what they are
Have it all ... made clear
Let go ... of all those
... that don't give a damn
Hold tight to the dear
And they hold me back
(would the sky stay black?)
(would shadow cast,... disparaging?)

Unsettled, uneasy
My thoughts weave twisted branches
Turmoil, my life matches
Will my mind ever rest?
- Peace say,... what are the chances?

Some make their own screwed-up world
Strange gravity held my compass
But I don't want to be a part
(of that existence)
Oh, with my bare hands
- Punch a hole in the atmosphere
Settle the quiet, distant star
See everyone for what they are
Have it all ... made clear
Let go ... of all those
... that don't give a damn
Hold tight to the dear
And they hold me back
(would the sky stay black?)
(would shadow cast,... disparaging?)

Love, come fight for me
Hold me together
While I fall apart
Love, take confusion
- From this odyssey
Banish the cracks that threaten end

Moonchild

Burnin' heart, blue fire, sapphire deep
(Still waters?) - not hardly,... but hard currents
Pressed doubt, push and pull, the climb out is steep
Spat upon a rock, empty dock, nighthawk
(Shell-shocked, through and through)

How low ... must I go,
... grieve enough, (paralyzed) - by you?
How high ... must I fly,
... leave, (the ostracized) - soar anew?
Because I'm not given the choice for belonging

Black ice eyes, wiser in reprise, yeah tense
'Cause some feel, need to slam ya down a peg
- Then say 'lighten up',... good luck finding sense
They're extreme, silence or scream, no between
(Their way or nothing)

How low ... must I go,
... grieve enough, (paralyzed) - by you?
How high ... must I fly,
... leave, (the ostracized) - soar anew?
Because I'm not given the choice for belonging

Wintersong (Frost from Fire)

How is it, we've wasted (love) away?
We've tasted (us), then let time enter fray
Once a haven,... once a safe retreat
Warm inside each other, alive with heat

We've gone to our knees, at the crossroads
- Our Wintersong, where try meets tire
There's a coldness of loss settling
Ingathering tears chill,... frost from fire

Flames doused
Drenched ignite
No shelter, from the pall and merciless bite
- Stinging our eyes, stinging our eyes (frozen)
Delivering long days ... of shivering night

We've gone to our knees, at the crossroads
- Our Wintersong, where try meets tire
There's a coldness of loss settling
Ingathering tears chill,... frost from fire

Marionette

Toyer of fraught emotions
Destroyer without regret
Make me jump, (oh, how high?), paint my smile
Tug me, twist me, prance and pirouette

I followed you like a rag doll
- Your marionette, choked by strings
I gave you all ... I had, all I was
And lost myself, for your everything

It's so confusing
- The way I feel ... dead inside
Sever soon will snap
With recoil of what has died
Our love, our love, no encore
Collapsing spotlight,... fade out, the end

Watch me go, watch the fleeting memories
- Be enamored by the will for change
Strong enough to move on without you
- That must be a stunner, slice of strange

The Guy Next Door

He's like a shock rocker
But a barely there talker
Some say a skinwalker
What do they know, as if their prim souls are clean

And the devil may dance
In his black bedroom, by chance
Midnight groove, happenstance
Radio, fist pumpin', blood-curdlin' machine

He's just your average (spooky) guy next door
He's just your average (spooky) guy next door

Each neighbor's a creeper
Voyeur, window sill peeper
They think he's the reaper
Salivating gossip, as an asp hisses

Nonconformist with styles
Raunchy rev, skidmark defiles
But every daughter smiles
He sends up a wave ... but fathers see kisses

He's just your average (spooky) guy next door
He's just your average (spooky) guy next door

And the devil may dance
In his black bedroom, by chance
Midnight groove, happenstance
Radio, fist pumpin', blood-curdlin' machine

He's just your average (spooky) guy next door
He's just your average (spooky) guy next door

Gray Garden

The shadow season nears
Sunflowers and sun dance disappears
Tumbling, absence of light
And leaves trickle down without color
Ladies stroll by, with their cavaliers

Time passes and turns cold
Moments, hours, days to years grown old
I held onto wishes
But Autumn breezes blow them away
Love - come ... tell me about forever
Your medley of hues, airbrushing the gray

Swaying trees line the lane
Genteel march, souls remain
Enraptured,.. like fragile, paper dolls
They capture my heart with beautiful pain

(Love - tell me ... no wish is forgotten)

Liar's Moon

Buckin' for attention
Fishin', huntin'
Wanderlust flirt
Repeating testimony
No one gets hurt
Angling across the surface of their eyes
Love is the lure, bait sugar-coated lies
You got a good thing goin', catchy line
Don't let 'em compare and you'll be just fine

Call 'em one in a million, solid strike
It's a shadow tactic but they won't know
Mind games, (shame ... on you), practice makes a pro

Then a night comes,... neon Angel, rival
Prowlin', primal, better than you can give
You'll find turnabout hits you where you live

Walkin' past pet names and stale jukebox tune
Pivot the liar's moon-player with deal
- On to someone else, in the room, that's real

Oh, love ...
It doesn't have to be perfect
But it must be real

(c) Kay Irvin

Note:
Wrote this after running across something
I hadn't read for many years ...
(sorry, I don't know the Author)
A quote [or poem] as follows -
"A lover's moon soars clear and bright,
guiding true love throughout the night.
But a liar's moon lurks misty and gray,
scheming to drive true love away."

(Here) I didn't make reference to "she" or "he"
(at times, try not to) because that can restrict
the writing ... for the reader.
[theme can be a man's or woman's point of view ]

Badlands

Badlands, carved by the wind and age
Wheels hittin' pavement, dead end gauge
Rear view mirror dons talisman
Throttle, hammer down, if you can

Black-eyed, soulless figures
Approaching, knocking,... 'let me in'
Open your door but know for sure
You won't ever be seen again
(don't stop, don't let the engine die)

Ridin' Devil's Highway
Nights, headlights, Hell to pay
Four corners, six-six-six

Twist, turn, curve, swerve, tread huggin' road
Knuckles grippin' tight, heavy load
Miles and miles, point 'a' to 'b'
Dry-slick, dust kickin' up debris

Black-eyed, soulless figures
Approaching, knocking,... 'let me in'
Open your door but know for sure
You won't ever be seen again
(don't stop, don't let the engine die)

Ridin' Devil's Highway
Nights, headlights, Hell to pay
Four corners, six-six-six

Note: [2 Urban Legends]
(courtesy Wikipedia & GHOSTSAMONG US)

1. U.S. Route 491 (US 491) is a north–south U.S. Highway
serving the Four Corners region of the United States.
One of the newest designations in the U.S. Highway System,
created in 2003 as a renumbering of U.S. Route 666 (US 666).
With the 666 designation, this road was nicknamed
... the "Devil's Highway"
2. BEKs (Black-Eyed Kids)... urban legend/myth
Mostly, taking the form of children (or teens).
They always ask to get IN
- into the car, into the house, into wherever you are.
And they are always accompanied by fear,
a fear so strong that witnesses describe it as dread or terror.

Necromancer

I.
Not a tempest in a teapot
But distant plane, some have forgot
And it won't do, and it won't do
I call forth the shadows,... peer through

II.
Hello or good bye, yes or no
Planchette is placed, chalice Bordeaux
And with a heart-shaped, little plank
Welcome from world, vast and dank

III.
Eleven : eleven blesses
Hazel eyes and raven tresses
Our thirteenth chime awaits nearby
Yes or no, hello or good bye

IV.
Spark the candle, lend to my voice
Spectral portal, tend with your choice
Let me be your enchanted host
Show me the things, you covet most

V.
Memories, recorded vision
Lightning strike, be your incision
To this side and ready wonder
By flesh, blood and steady thunder

VI.
Tell your tale and well, I shall scribe
Prolific journals, sweet imbibe
Slate poised, unrehearsed sessions
Sate my thirst, unriddle questions

VII.
Beyond life, death and mortal coil
The folds of time, unearthly soil
Flotsam souls, mine to thine now merge
Old and kindred, shared lonesome dirge

VIII.
Terror-spurned from your window's sash
Perhaps others would dread and dash
Whose niche is that of a jackal
Aging, sure as youth will crackle

IX.
But I invoke thee, bring cold swirls
Fling opulent orbs, dancing pearls
We live but shells, reckoning task
Beckoning quench of unknown cask

X.
Vent, weep, whisper, scream and opine
Slither, unwither, serpentine
Unleash,... I beseech, unravel
Crawl from secrets, splay the gravel

XI.
What say you, what of portent dares ?
What descent creaks upon the stairs ?
Disconnected stride, bid token
Enter, center bide, unbroken

XII.
Unveil what cannot be unseen
Strip the night, unto toll, thirteen
Whatsoever pitch envelop
Free, clear as portraits develop

XIII.
I call forth shadows, touch my veins
Love and care, without harm nor chains
Exodus, black room, sheltered gloam
If so inclined, make here, your home

Drops of Moonlight

Oceans of love
Each time I'm with you
Each time I see you
I wrap 'round your sighs and laughter
As a shell encompasses an oyster
And a treasure within
And another created
And another created
Precious moments, connecting
A string of pearls
As stepping stones to more and more
Drops of moonlight
The ebb of disappointment set adrift
Replaced with elation
Salty spray engulfing me (entirely)
Tides
Pulling me in
Rushing around me
Foam, current, waves of splendor
White sand orbs
Brilliant
Every speck
Every glittering morsel
My opulence
Love, love, love

Love Hard

Stitch on, stitch a reason why
I should stay, not say goodbye
You give me little to hold onto
I love hard, give all,... until I break
All for naught, dying love's sake

Stitch please, stitch sorry with salt
I've been tested to a fault
My tears are worth more than last ditch words
Hook and patch won't save the split that's torn
You snag at excuse, fistful of thorn

And I should go to pieces
Let end begin
Fail releases
Crisp light
Silver lining, shining in

Redbud Song

Avondale hills, his gentle violin -
Haunts the days, grown heavy and long
And time's temperamental as sloe gin
I hold my love, dear, deep and strong
Blackthorn, bittersweet, sad to part
Take to heart, mine beats to see you
Starling - follow and carry Redbud song
(I hold my love, dear, deep and strong)

Scissortail, gone past the front porch window -
Westward, where the horses stroll white clover
Labor conquers all things but now meadow -
Cradles the wind and toil is over
(He will fill moonlight with music again)

Chain link fences, shabby barns, honey hives
Cool, Summer creek, peaches and cream
Slow rosin - he makes sweetness come alive
Home - bring him to me, liken dream
Country back roads, picturesque gem
Nightwish - songbird sent, wing and crest
Shooting star - don't leave my eyes half agleam
(Home - bring him to me, liken dream)

Kiss Me Goodbye

You're treating me like an option
But I remember when
You said I filled your emptiness
Petals strewn 'cross the bedroom floor
Taking our time, all night
Now, memory is meaningless

We see each other less and less

Don't patronize me
Pretend, half-heart in,
With ... we could still try
Take the out, own it
And kiss me goodbye
Kiss me goodbye

Rest assured ...
Someone else will appreciate your mistake

Seems, once you got what you wanted
Your effort fell endgame
Hunger doesn't try anymore
There's too much you take for granted
Trading Midnight flowers
Your token steps ... away the door

Love in pieces, strewn 'cross the floor

Don't patronize me
Pretend, half-heart in,
With ... we could still try
Take the out, own it
And kiss me goodbye
Kiss me goodbye

Rest assured ...
Someone else will appreciate your mistake

Shadow and Light

She's the Victorian-Steampunk- Lady
Blush-sorbet camisole corset and opal, cameo choker
Bella Donna eyes and a shy touch,
trailing the scent of rose and honeysuckle
That alluring combination of vulnerability,
innocence and unawakened passion
Gibson Girl charme, offering pink-candy kisses

She's the Gothic-Wildfire-Woman
Raven-laced, thigh-high, snug stockings
Black on black nail polish, ember-red lipstick
and winged heart bracelet
That hot mixture of magic-madness, poetic-pain
and nightshade bewitchment
Growl (not a purr) and she-wolf perfume

She's a soft presence, airy as Heaven,
But tethered by a darkness that leaves her mind swimming in Hell

Don't you love her?
Can you stay and love her ...
even though she's beautifully broken
and stitched together, by thread slivers of shadow and light?

Parchment Prose

Romantic rose
Antique crackles
Three words
(I - love - you)
The most perfect, most meaningful words ... ever
And I can smell him
Taste him
Feel him

Black ink quill
And I recall how handsome he is
When he's dressed in black
And how attracted I am (to him)
He wears it well

Elegant font, calligraphically grand
And I recall the curve of his sugar-smile
When he can't get enough of me
And I find that irresistible
I can't get enough of him

Breathy lyrics,... rhythmic, soft moans
I can hear him
His voice moves inside me
And I will recite his sentiment with delicacy
(when next, I'm with him)
Pleasurably procrastinating the brush of my lips
To his chest
His neck
His ear
More and again, I will smell him
Taste him
Feel him
What imagery and senses stir
Oh, those three words
Magnificent
Of parchment prose

(c) Kay Irvin

Crown Of Thorns (you are your own)

Something about your far off gaze
When you should be looking into my eyes
Rips through me and across each puppet string
And your attention drifts from haze
Resolve escapes the breath of compromise
The unsaid really does say everything

Something about your distant touch
When you should want to be main distraction
Allows uncertainty, how color bleeds
And you know damn well and too much
I'm grasping shadows, getting a fraction
Sour-driven, how your indecision feeds

Offer and hold back, bait and switch
Plant enticement with deception
And your selfishness feeds
(Draining, exhausting, killing me)

Tormenting twinge (underlying)
Seeds of doubt (love dying)
Crawling just beneath the surface
Dead flowers falling, my black tears
I would beg you to ease my fears
(but I don't think you can)
You drama up distress
Incapable of happiness
(you are your own) crown of thorns
(you are, you are, you are - your own crown of thorns)

Still I Rise

Low is the light
Radiance slight
Where to this mired, tired spirit lies
Darkness sired chamber, midst my eyes
Still I rise

Struggle covers
Sadness hovers
Above, around, smothering skies
Blackness comes, coloring reprise
Still I rise

Conflict and crumble
Unseen scars, new rave
Buckle or rumble
Blitz, pin, counter brave

Take it all in
Play it to win
Enough maelstrom, enter surprise
Midnight Anthem, checkmate replies
Still I rise
The Queen Dance
And I rise
Still I rise

Lemongrass

You think that your hopes are all in
But if you could gaze past the looking-glass
You'd see that new wish could begin
Fresh as lavender fields and lemongrass

You've been drowning in confusion
You've gone so far off track
Sadness is just an illusion
That'll turn your eyes to black

The snow that shimmers in moonlight
Reflects with gilded glimmer for your day
What's been chasing you is leaf blight
But the Winterly shall phase out from stay

You've been drowning in confusion
You've gone so far off track
Sadness is just an illusion
That'll turn your eyes to black

Let me be the night, that takes your darkness and rush
You be the sun bright, that wakes acquiesce and hush
Beyond what's in front of you, looking-glass
As lavender fields and lemongrass
As lavender fields and lemongrass

Gemini Night

Love the night, hate the night
Bite my lip, sting and feeling so right
Pierce, warm and elusive
It's temperamental blade
Baby, it cuts both ways

Extreme good, extreme bad
Wind me up, keep me high, black-steel-clad
Time's a double-edged sword
Blood and tears, hot and cold
Baby, let slow graze stroll

Evocative, little secrets scoff
Their potion-like pressures set you off
Forget guilt, get lost and seize that hilt
Dual, inhibitions flow
Make a minx, take a doe

Tomorrow you can forgive yourself
Pleasure and pain surrenders from stealth
Alter-ego, spirited Gemini
How both sides, each deny
How both sides, each deny

Charmed Alchemy

I don't know what to say
I don't know what to do
I'm so in love with you

What if my feelings slip?
My soul, then bare with strip
And butterflies set free
What if you were in love with me?

I don't know which is worse
Confess or cage near burst

I can no longer hide
Can you handle what's true?
I'm so in love with you

When flaring notions slip
My soul, then bare with strip
And butterflies set free
Please say that you're in love with me

Fluttering fray,... tension, delight

Turned on, charmed Alchemy
Restless, imagining
That you could be in love with me

Fluttering fray,... tension, delight

Contrary

I swore I would not go back
To what once was
Love lost
Accepting a tepid rose
Only to watch it wither on the vine
There's line
I've drawn for self promises

80 to 10 m.p.h
Oh, think again
Our long conversations have ...
Come to an end
Stamina, you're not engaged
I'm contrary
And you've got nothing but lax to defend

Frustrated by defiance
Met your cool match
Love lost
Your would-be conquer has flaws
That imperfection proves to serve me well
Do tell
Challenge to your idle heart

80 to 10 m.p.h
Oh, think again
Our long conversations have ...
Come to an end
Stamina, you're not engaged
I'm contrary
And you've got nothing but lax to defend

There's settling but I won't tolerate
Boredom and vacancy, where you could try
(Goodbye ... Now, love lost ... Goodbye)

Darkflower

His vintage beauty in pale, pink stockings
Tosses dulcet laughter, catching his heart
Her smile leads his dizzy thoughts rocking
While night colors love ... like a work of art

Darkflower
- And a pale, pink rose
Stroking 'cross her lips
Dew, petals and hips
Darkflower
Moon dripping with light
Down her body,... back arched, exquisite curve
Silver tongue kisses, tingling every nerve
Juicy confection like Autumn candy
Haunting affection, canvassed for the Spring
Moments such as these ... are the sweetest thing

His muse, and wild hearts can't be broken
Dazzles with fragile, yet an untamed bloom
He can capture what she leaves unspoken
But there's part of her,... no one can consume

Darkflower
- And a pale, pink rose
Stroking 'cross her lips
Dew, petals and hips
Darkflower
Moon dripping with light
Down her body,... back arched, exquisite curve
Silver tongue kisses, tingling every nerve
Juicy confection like Autumn candy
Haunting affection, canvassed for the Spring
Moments such as these ... are the sweetest thing

Watercolors

Watercolors, emotions
Blur and blend through each other
With their, dizzy, tinted thoughts
Chaotic, racing sundries
The woman is strong but longs for protection
Where her guard can come down and she can just be
And misty confusion can be ... washed away

Don't we all get tired, shattered by too much thinking?
Don't we all feel powerless and need time to escape?
Unconditional touch can heal with comforting drape
Those unflinching arms, holding on
'Til the hurt is gone

That Alpha male,... he'll say
I'll be your everything
For you,... anything
Let your tears and world fall ... to my shoulders
I will be the bolder one ... for awhile
Until you can summon a smile ... again
Let me take and love your burdens, unto sleep

Wonderlust

Love, I want to learn every inch of you
I want you to learn every inch of me
Hours and hours deflowers to our open world
Explore, lose boundaries, touch electricity

Nothing forbidden,... bask, taste with innocent lips
Where risque words unveil sugar, like a lover
Again and again, memorizing each other

Lingering, fingering, sketching constellations
Sensitivity can ache, twinge and trust combine
Stargazers let curious waves interpret design

Wonderlust, safe in love
Wonderlust, safe in love
And it's okay,... for us,... to feel everything

Justify Me

There's something about candlelight
Stunning trance, in a woman's eyes
Glimpse to an intimate place and stardust shine
There's something about a good man
Willing to take a real, good while
Strong hands gone tender, up and down her spine

Release the love that's long been sleeping there
Slow-trace her face and body, pull back her hair
With hard kisses, hell-bent to have their way
Heaven-sent, no holding back, intent to stay
Making a memory, the first of many
(tonight,... forever and a day)

(Justify me ... and I will love you, like mad)

There's something about a man's smile
Playful, hinting, begging to seize
He must have her,.. words honey-dripping, "You're mine"
There's something about a woman
Waking that imagination
He knows when dawn comes, it will be divine

Release the love that's long been sleeping there
Soft hands gone strong, taking his shiver with dare
With hard kisses, hell-bent to have their way
Heaven-sent, no holding back, intent to stay
Making a memory, the first of many
(tonight,... forever and a day)

(Justify me ... and I will love you, like mad)

Dancing With Fire

Love is ... the smell of the rain
Love is ... the smell of her skin
Is this a wasted mood?
- An atmosphere made in vain
As slow, night dances begin

Each move, he questions himself
Shy, second-guessing his part
Am I just too needy?
On the line or on the shelf
Do I hide or give my heart?

Beautiful, hot, graceful
Beautiful, hot, graceful
Seducing his fevered sway
Love is her touch, as a flame
Yearning, he becomes her clay
With the heat of her body
Burning, dancing with fire

Love is ... her breath on his neck
Love is ... that deep felt tempo
But will his weakness win?
If he chooses helplessness
As smoke and mist,... she will go

And be ... the ghost of his dreams
Beautiful, hot, graceful
Beautiful, hot, graceful
Seducing his fevered sway
Love is her touch, as a flame
Yearning, he becomes her clay
With the heat of her body
Burning, dancing with fire

To Die In Love

I can hardly remember what it's like to fall in love

I could take the good ... and bad
But I couldn't and never could take the good ... to bad
- When the good comes and leaves,
... then becomes a faint memory
And the bad is all that remains, everywhere,... smothering
It's as though, someone gives you a thing so special,
... Only to rip it away

You don't want to believe it
And you lie to yourself
- Thinking the good will come back,
Saying it will come back
- Anything to ease the overwhelming hurt,
Even if only for a few minutes
And you silently plead for the smallest amount of light
- To show itself midst those dark places, where you've sunk
Deep down,... deep as those dark places,
You know it won't ... but you won't admit it
... until, in retrospect

Forgive yourself for pushing away hard, cold reality
Hearts are fragile
We just hope for the best
We ache from loneliness
- So much so, that long after the fact of loss,
We sometimes wonder
... if being alone is better than just accepting the bad,
Knowing that's as good as it would ever be

It is,... and we acknowledge it as quick as we question it

I can hardly remember what it's like to fall in love
But I know what it's like ... to die in love

Candles

And I can still see you standing in front of me
Maybe I always will
Maybe it's just one of those things that softly kill

Life, it's what you dream, then what it actually is
Full of kisses and scars
Void the bad with candles of solace, lit like stars

Ominous clouds are brewing outside my window
But I love the thunder
Do you think about me? ... (I have a sick wonder)

And I can still see you standing in front of me
Maybe I always will
Maybe it's one of those things that softly kill

(Disappointments)
My mind wanders
Night is with me
Take my darkness
Please, hold me tight
- while candles burn
(while candles burn)
(while candles burn)

Lavender

I believe
Winterplace, crystal dreams

Sky shimmer, snow globe around, above
Lavender icicles, frozen flowers
Everything stopped, there was no love
And every moment felt like hours

Oh, the morrow, seemingly sorrow
Frost-bound ballet,... still, music would play

I believe
Winterplace, crystal dreams

Flurries were falling, shaped broken hearts
Lost rapture, violins, tableau, song
As soon as it ends, again it starts
'Til I danced free, broken glass,... so long

Dance, broken glass,... so long
I believe

Glittering sky,... love left me to die
New love, new day,... please, find me and stay

Love,... please, find me and stay
I believe
I believe

Alpha Female

{Manifesto}

I am an Alpha Female ...
- By birth, by blood, by wild heart and by choice
It is your decision to court, accept and have me
I won't bore you with denial of hunt for sacred, kindred match
I will not burden or harness your resolve with coyness or deception
Kindly, show me the same courtesy and don't lie to me or to yourself
- With disingenuous intentions
If your effort or initial curiosity, towards me, wanes,
(Godspeed)
- An abundance of secondary, feminine opportunities for your pursuit
Loved or lone ... will be my outcome,... and to which ... I will adapt

Empower me, enlighten me, encourage me
You can't break me
You won't make me
Enhance my life as a best friend and lover
And I will feel fortunate to have you
May you also have appreciation for me,
- Rather than a mindset of conquer
I can walk away from you ... without hesitation,
- From the start or any moment thereafter, if need be,... then
(Godspeed)... a more compatible and prepared partner for my days

Don't mistake my tenderness with an inability to strike a wicked bite
Don't test my patience
I tire of folly and insincerity quickly
I can sniff it out and smell it a mile away
Should consideration sway towards an abusive nature,...
- Be aware that I abide 'a tooth for a tooth' when mistreated
Gentleness is attractive and inspires a tamer mood

Embrace those I cherish
Treasure them, as I, with equal care
And I will also honor those that keep an endearing circle around you

Protect me from those that would wish or do me harm
Be my hero
Be the sabre at my enemies throat
Belittle and slay them with strength and swiftness
Weaken their attack,
- As fangs would puncture flesh and drain its flourish
Outthink them with the confidence of your affection for me
And I will defend you ... to the death

If we are meant to be,...
- We will remain individuals ... that select a pairing
- Drawn by our differences and braced by our likeness
We will not limit our traits with ultimatums that force change
We will not stray or seek comfort from another
Betrayal is not an option
There will be no other
We understand ... to begin and join creates a vow and bond
Freely give me your fierce loyalty and you can trust in mine

I don't require all of your attention
I only ask to share time with you
Promise unto me a constant, meaningful place, within you, to dwell
Let me rely on you, cry to you, celebrate and feast with you
- Upon the sweetest veins of this world

I do not want receipt of anything, which I am not willing to offer
And my word of truth eliminates temptation
- For possible references to 'standards'
My requests shall be returned, as an echo harkens back in the wind,
And you will be my home, my palace, my mate
You will be my riches beyond wealth
- The desire and devotion, the very fury that will set my soul ablaze
... Forever

If we are meant to be,...
- Let us love, each day, as if there would be no tomorrow
Our unite might just bring about dreams of envy
- For the angels in heaven and the mortals on earth

Black Swan

If you compare my all ... to another
You set me up to fail, as your lover
You measure the details, they always lack
Sometimes,... it's a cold, cold, unfair world
Sometimes,... designs go black, go black, go black

Don't lead me on, moody when real life nears
Games are desperate tactics born of fears
Sleepy indecision keeps me at bay
She's gone,... I'm here ... but if you fracture trust
The love I feel will sadly sail away

I'm only getting pieces of you (that won't do)
Pine for her or take this musing love and move on
Wake from your dreams, find bittersweet truth and black swan
Wake from your dreams, find bittersweet truth and black swan

Did you find yourself bittersweet truth and black swan?
