Winter Spell

So many people, so many promises
So many lies, when they all swore they would stay
I've been disillusioned, yet fell, overtaken
Hoping against hope they wouldn't go away

Frost on encounters, frost on hands that make reach
Could it be to belong or am I snow blind?
Icicles and prisms bewitch with visions
But are cold to the depths, disguised as designed

I want today, tomorrow and forever
I need to believe 'neath this Winter white spell
Feel a warmth I've never had or imagined
Sweep over me, melt this iced fear that befell

Shatter this atmosphere that courses my blood
Smash and free, give to me - endless, burning love

New Winter tale
Winter spell (our love)
Icicles and prisms bewitch with visions
Our own world (our love)
New Winter tale
Winter spell (our amazing love)

Wintersong (Frost from Fire)

How is it, we've wasted (love) away?
We've tasted (us), then let time enter fray
Once a haven,... once a safe retreat
Warm inside each other, alive with heat

We've gone to our knees, at the crossroads
- Our Wintersong, where try meets tire
There's a coldness of loss settling
Ingathering tears chill,... frost from fire

Flames doused
Drenched ignite
No shelter, from the pall and merciless bite
- Stinging our eyes, stinging our eyes (frozen)
Delivering long days ... of shivering night

We've gone to our knees, at the crossroads
- Our Wintersong, where try meets tire
There's a coldness of loss settling
Ingathering tears chill,... frost from fire

Lavender

I believe
Winterplace, crystal dreams

Sky shimmer, snow globe around, above
Lavender icicles, frozen flowers
Everything stopped, there was no love
And every moment felt like hours

Oh, the morrow, seemingly sorrow
Frost-bound ballet,... still, music would play

I believe
Winterplace, crystal dreams

Flurries were falling, shaped broken hearts
Lost rapture, violins, tableau, song
As soon as it ends, again it starts
'Til I danced free, broken glass,... so long

Dance, broken glass,... so long
I believe

Glittering sky,... love left me to die
New love, new day,... please, find me and stay

Love,... please, find me and stay
I believe
I believe

Winter Heart

As the snowflakes pirouette
How could I forget
Everything you said
Words come back at me
Flying in my face
Stinging and burning
Ice shards, thorned kisses
And love is breaking
(I can feel you slip away)

As diamonds sleep untouched snow
Grays keep ten below
Beautifully tragic
Winter magic bleak
Bittersweet-frozen
Our last memory
Bad destroyed the good
And love is breaking
(Can you feel me slip away?)

I wonder,... Winter heart,... in this cold wonderland
Can you feel me slip away?

Winter Wren

I left Summer and went to Winter
From the West, traveling to the East
With colder ground, the grass did splinter
Blades of frost spiked, where green luster ceased

Some faces stared as elder-strangers
Their expressions chiseled out lifelines
They've known their share of strife and dangers
Harken wisdom blighted view defines

My breath fogged the bleak and flurried air
My stinging hands cracked with chafing wring
The land slept neath a harvest gone bare
Yet the mighty spruce and fir did sing

Town lights curled pine cone wreaths and bows
Night twinkle kept time with distant song
Shoppes, taverns and holly trimmed windows
Lay like blinking stars, briskly grown long

Each doorframe donned a mistletoe sprig
And welcomed with scent of toddy spice
Warmth met chocolate, candy cane and fig
While wooded serenade rang thrice

White dust blew across sidewalks and streets
The dark sky sprayed hurried, wider shed
Ole Blue Norther heaves as sashay sleets
For to palace stormy, snowy spread

My footsteps braved the kindred path chose
I left the festive and fragrant mood
By garland and hearth, I found repose
So missed and so wishfully pursued

From the dawn, a shy sun was peeking
Once more, I heard a tireless tune
Jealous crow caws milled around, shrieking
Envious of notes, crafted for June

I left the West for an Eastward roam
For some peace I could cherish again
And in my soul, I know I've come home
Blest by the crest calling Winter Wren

Winter Rose

Around and round and falling down
And in descent, there is no sound
Snow angels and snow castles form
Beneath dark skies, among a storm

Crystalline when the sunlight shows
Melting with flit of morning crows
That essence sleeps (though in repose)
Just for a time, the Winter Rose

Chasm outreaches with white gold
Window glass is a touch so cold
Night breeze like airy thorns transform
Returning, yearning to be warm

Crystalline when the sunlight shows
Melting with flit of morning crows
That essence sleeps (though in repose)
Just for a time, the Winter Rose

Valentine

Ever mine, ever gothic romantic
Graced paper lace and Winter violin
Frosted hearts wake frantic
(I keep you)
When the parlor light is slightest hue
I am elusive touch that sweeps your skin

Desire closed cold as frozen flowers
Ice kissed, wondering if love's saint forgot
Now home unfolds the hours
(I keep you)
When candles spindrift embrace anew
I am lyrical chill ... "forget me not"

Feel me, feel my eyes watching over you
Here and near, darling, ever connected
And you cannot hide, you are affected
I know you know (quivering, shivering)
There's no letting go, there's no letting go
Footsteps lead wait as whisper lifts dreaming
Soul screaming infinite, devoted pine
Ever mine, Eventide, Valentine

You are mine
Ever mine, Eventide, Valentine
